A confidential document received through Cockleshell Quantum Secure Communications could be transferred directly into the Vault. Cockleshell Secure ID could verify who is requesting access, while authorised Cockleshell AI services could help organise and retrieve information according to the owner's permissions.
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
Cockleshell Vault could ultimately incorporate Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for specialist high-security applications. QKD uses quantum properties to establish cryptographic keys between authorised parties, with attempts to observe the quantum exchange potentially revealing interference. Combined with post-quantum cryptography, strong identity verification and conventional cybersecurity controls, QKD could provide an additional security layer for future Cockleshell networks protecting highly sensitive business, government,
defence and critical-infrastructure information.
Cockleshell Vault — Security Built in Layers
Not every Vault needs the same level of protection. Cockleshell Vault lets you choose how many authorised people are needed to access your information.
Level 1 — Personal Vault
Your own private digital Vault. One authorised person can access and manage the information inside, protected by multiple layers of security.
Ideal for personal documents, photographs, records, backups and other important digital information.
Level 2 — Dual-Control Vault
For information that should never be controlled by one person alone. Two authorised people must securely log in and approve access at the same time before the Vault can be opened.
They do not need to be in the same physical location. They can be anywhere in the world, provided both are securely authenticated and present in the same live Vault session.
If either person leaves the secure session, the Vault locks again.
Level 3 — Multi-Control Vault
Designed for highly sensitive information. Three or more authorised people must securely log in and approve access together before the Vault can be opened.
They can be located anywhere in the world. Each authorised person securely joins the same live Vault session and access is only granted when the required number of people have been authenticated.
If the required number of authorised people is no longer present in the secure session, the Vault locks again.
Ideal for businesses, organisations and critical information where no single person should have complete control.
